About Us

The highest credential. The clearest communication.

An accountant that speaks your language.

Ross Professional Accounting & Tax Service is a full-service tax and accounting firm serving everyday individuals and businesses. Led by an IRS-licensed Enrolled Agent — the highest credential the IRS awards — the firm provides expert tax preparation, accounting, bookkeeping, and tax resolution services with a commitment to clear communication and personalized service.

Unlike general CPAs who may only dabble in tax matters, an Enrolled Agent practices exclusively in the area of tax, holding unlimited practice rights to represent taxpayers before the IRS. We combine that specialized expertise with a friendly, approachable philosophy — helping everyday people live extraordinary lives.

What is an Enrolled Agent?

Anyone can be a paid tax return preparer as long as they have an IRS Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN). However, tax return preparers have differing levels of skills, education, and expertise.

Licensed by the IRS, an Enrolled Agent is a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service by passing a three-part Special Enrollment Examination — a comprehensive exam requiring demonstrated proficiency in federal tax planning, individual and business tax return preparation, and representation.

Enrolled Agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. Individuals who obtain this elite status must adhere to ethical standards and complete 72 hours of continuing education courses every three years.

Enrolled Agents, like attorneys and CPAs, have unlimited practice rights, meaning they are unrestricted as to which taxpayers they can represent, what types of tax matters they can handle, and which IRS offices they can represent clients before. Unlike a CPA, an Enrolled Agent practices exclusively in the area of tax.
